In Puli Township, Nantou County, they found a basin with moderate sunlight, soft water, and significant temperature differences between day and night. After several experiments, they realized that this land’s climate and conditions could nurture the highest quality vanilla pods. Therefore, they decided to fully commit to cultivating vanilla orchids. Unlike traditional farming methods used on other farms, they adopted a raised-bed cultivation approach. This not only facilitated drainage but also ensured soil disease control, thus promoting plant health. Regular application of organic fertilizers and materials created a non-toxic environment for their vanilla orchids, enhancing nutrient absorption and resulting in plump and healthy pods at harvest time.
